The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed given the Government’s acceptance of the petition in principle; the steps being taken through the Workforce Partnership Council; and that the young people who were involved in submitting the petition are no longer involved; to close the petition.

The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to write to the Minister seeking his views on the petitioners’ latest comments and for a further update on progress including the latest consideration by the Workforce Partnership Council.

Having concluded its consideration of new and existing petitions, the Committee agreed to adjourn at 10.07 and re-convene at 10.25 for an evidence session with the Minister for Education and Skills.

The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and was minded to close the petition but agreed to await the views of the petitioner on the Minister’s latest correspondence before making a final decision.

to await the outcome of the Workforce Partnership Council meeting in December.

·         seek further comments from the petitioner; and

·         write to the Minister seeking assurances that the matter will be discussed at the December meeting of the Workforce Partnership Council.

• write to the Minister asking for reassurance that the issue will be considered at the Workforce Partnership Council meeting which is due to take place in September; and
• await the outcome of the meeting.

The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to seek an update on progress after the Workforce Partnership Council has considered the matter in March.

The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to write to the Workforce Partnership Council asking for a timeframe of when they envisage to develop the Living Wage. 

The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and agreed to seek more information, as requested, on the Welsh Government Advisory Group on the living wage.

The Committee considered the petition and agreed to seek a response from the Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty.

The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to write to the Minister for Local Government and Communities to: make him aware of the petition; to seek an update on the work of the stakeholder group convened; and to ask whether Save the Children’s Young Ambassadors will also be consulted as part of the Government’s work on the issue.
