Inquiry into Stroke Risk Reduction
The Committee’s original inquiry
The
Health and Social Care Committee undertook an inquiry into stroke risk reduction during winter 2011. The terms of reference
for the inquiry were:

examine the current provision of stroke risk reduction services and the
effectiveness of Welsh Government policies in addressing any weaknesses in
these services, including:
- scrutinising the implementation
of the Welsh Government’s Stroke Risk Reduction Action Plan, including the
extent to which action to raise public awareness of the risk factors for
stroke has succeeded;
- identifying those areas where
there are particular problems in the implementation and delivery of stroke
risk reduction actions;
- considering the evidence for an
atrial fibrillation screening programme being launched in Wales.
